What forms of ID are considered valid for confirming a guest’s legal drinking age during alcohol service?

Acceptable Forms of ID include:

Valid U.S. State Driver’s License

Valid U.S. State or Federal Government-Issued Identification

Valid U.S. Passport and/or Passport Card

Valid Military ID issued by the U.S. Department of Defense

Valid Foreign Passport (Note: For international guests, California ABC only permits Foreign Passports as valid identification.)


Please note:

Any identification suspected or determined to be fraudulent will result in the denial of alcohol service.

Expired identification will not be accepted and will result in the denial of alcohol service.

Guests who appear visibly intoxicated will be refused alcohol service and may also be denied entry to the premises.


When does The Rooftop Bar become a 21+ venue? 

The Rooftop Bar evolves into a 21+ lounge environment at 9 PM daily. Please be 

prepared to present a valid ID upon entry to our venue.

Please note:

What is The Rooftop Bar’s policy regarding guests being disruptive?

The Rooftop Bar reserves the right to pause or discontinue service and/or request that a guest leave the premises if their behavior is considered disruptive. Disruptive behavior 

includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Intoxication or inappropriate behavior

Harassing or disturbing other guests

Engaging in unsafe actions

Our Response Protocol:

Immediate Action: Disruptive behavior may lead to the guest being asked to leave immediately without a refund for any purchased food or drinks.

Security Assistance: In cases of extreme disruption, security or local authorities may be called to escort the individual off the property.


What if I am a guest of Mission Pacific Beach Resort and want pool or hot tub access after 9 PM, but have a member of my party who is under the age of 21?

After 9 PM, when The Rooftop Bar transitions into a 21+ lounge environment, Mission Pacific Beach Resort guests with a member under the age of 21 in their party will not be able to access the pool or hot tub on the sixth floor at The Rooftop Bar. Please note, this policy applies to all guests, including registered resort guests.

For an alternative, please visit Mission Pacific Beach Resort’s Front Desk to request access to the pool at our sister resort, The Seabird Ocean Resort & Spa, located on the third floor.

Please note that pool hours at The Seabird Ocean Resort & Spa are from 8 AM to 10 PM and are subject to change.
